Carmen & Frank Collision Centre Ltd.

Manufacturer certified collision repair

A certification is not a badge a shop buys. It is the manufacturer inspecting the building, the equipment, the training records and the repair procedures, and then agreeing that a vehicle repaired here is repaired the way the factory intended.

What a certification actually requires

  • The manufacturer’s own repair procedures. A modern body is a mix of high-strength steels, aluminium and structural adhesives, and each one has to be cut, joined and refinished a particular way. Which way is not a matter of opinion, and it is not the same between two cars that look alike.
  • Specific equipment. Welding, measuring and alignment systems approved for those materials, and refinishing equipment to match.
  • Trained technicians, with that training kept current rather than earned once and hung on a wall.
  • Factory parts and paint, so the panel that goes on is the panel that came off, and the colour is mixed to your vehicle’s own paint code.

Why this matters more than it used to

Driver assistance is standard equipment now. Cameras behind the windshield, radar in the grille, sensors in the bumpers. Replace a windshield or straighten a bumper and those systems can need recalibrating before the vehicle is safe to drive again. A shop working outside the manufacturer’s procedure has no reliable way to know which of them were disturbed.

There is a plainer argument too. A repair done to procedure, with the documentation to show it, protects what the vehicle is worth when you trade it in, sell it, or hand back a lease.

Questions we get asked

What does a certified collision centre mean?

That the manufacturer has inspected the shop’s equipment, training and repair procedures, and approved it to repair their vehicles to factory specification.

Does an uncertified shop void my warranty?

Repairs themselves do not usually void a factory warranty, but a repair done outside the manufacturer’s procedure can affect how a later warranty claim on related parts is treated, and it can affect resale value.

Do you only repair the brands you are certified for?

No. We restore all makes and models.
